The Prime Minister Briefed on The History Of The First Meeting Between Him And King Norodom Sihanouk

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, posted a video of the meeting between him and King Norodom Sihanouk, stating that this is the first meeting, popularly known as the "Meeting of Sihanouk-Hun Sen, Fère-en-Tardenois, December 2, 1987".

PM wrote on his telegram page on the night of March 12, 2023 that this is the first meeting between him and king Norodom Sihanouk, with three parties on each side, with Norodom Sihanouk himself accompanied by Queen Mother and Samdech Krom Preah, while PM Hun Sen's party was accompanied by Mr. Dich Mondy and Mr. Cham Prasidh.

PM further described that the first negotiation took place for two days from the 2nd to the 3rd of December, only to reach a joint declaration signed on December 4, 1987.

PM added: "It is this meeting and statement that forms the basis for the negotiation of stakeholders, both national and international, and leads to the Paris Agreement. Before negotiating, let the press sit down to record, then start sitting at the negotiating table and sit facing each other. Through this explanation and video, our people will be able to understand the story of Cambodian history, which can avoid misunderstandings based on the lies of some people."

It should be noted that this meeting between Samdech Preah Norodom and PM Hun Sen for the first time was the first paving of the history of Cambodia before the signing of the Paris Agreement on October 23, 1991.
